SAGE \u2013 Interreg SI-AT<\/p>\n

On 20 March we visited more places in Slovenia. We were curious to find out what are the things that connect the two countries in an elementary way. In the wake of natural beauty and shared history, we set off across hills and mountains to discover what Gornja Radgona has to tell and what Pomurje feeds on.<\/p>\n<\/div>

\"Freundschaftsbr\u00fccke,<\/span><\/div>

Crossing the Bridge of Friendship from Bad Radkersburg, we started our journey in Gornja Radgona, at the Dom Penine<\/a> winery. On the spot, those preparing for the hike can fill up with fresh water, we felt this would be important. Then we began our 6.5 km journey. Our route took us along the old main street of the town. This street, which has seen better days, has a lot of potential: the structure of the old, classic houses, their original function is worth a blog post, the promenade gave us a chance to learn more about the values of the locals through the busts of local celebrities (the statues themselves are very fine works of art), and then the cemetery to learn about the people who gave us the vineyards of the beautiful plains. Our hosts (Martina Ficko and Sabina Barbari\u010d) have prepared a great itinerary: a pleasant walk, home-made cakes, deer, wild onions, an ice-house and, of course, the Mur and its Bridge of Friendship.<\/p>\n<\/div>

A practical summary to our project:
\n– View existing cycle routes<\/a>
\n– Personal stories through farming and nature
\n– Assessing appropriate infrastructure for group trips (bus parking, bike transport, dining facilities, restrooms, etc.)<\/p>\n<\/div>

Highly sympathetic:
\n– They are environmentally friendly in all areas of their business,
\n– They raise awareness of the importance of sustainability among their visitors, guests, friends and family, and are constantly looking for new solutions for responsible management of natural resources and efficient use of electricity and heat.<\/p>\n<\/div>

\"Gibanica\"<\/span><\/div>

Our next stop was Renkovci, Hi\u0161a gibanice<\/a>, as the Prekmurska and Prle\u0161ka gibanica is a clear masterpiece of folk culture. Beyond the culinary delights, we were introduced to important symbolic elements that reinforce our shared great history. With our host, Mojca Makovec Halo\u017ean, we also agreed on important principles for planning for the future, sustainability.

Our last stop took us back to the banks of the Mura, where we found the perfect location for group activities: a pleasant combination of water, nature and infrastructure: the Otok Ljubezni.<\/p>\n<\/div>

    Visiting these wonderful places is the key to the success of our project: on the hills we saw the result of hard human work, at the Mura the power of the living water and finally towards Renkovci the safety of the endless horizon, the calming clarity that allows the sun to touch the ground.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>
