THE FIERY MOUNTAINS ARE CALLING
More than 40 extinct volcanoes shape the landscape in the south-east of Austria. The Thermen- and Vulkanland Styria is full off hidden gems that have been withering the ravages of time since millions of years. On eventful tours we introduce you to special places that offer a view into the long-ago past.
The regions’ highest elevation is the Stradner Kogel with 609 meters. His peak is accessible via hiking trails leading around and to the top of this former volcano. Take in the panorama and feel like you are above it all on our guided hikes.
TASTES LIKE DELECTATION
Fertile soil is the basis for outstanding culinary adventures. The region is known world-wide for its innovative entrepreneurs, whose manufactories produce delicacies of the highest quality. Not afraid to show off their production as well as happy to talk about their philosophies, these out-standing personalities invite you to come, visit and have a tasteful time.
FROM THE DEEP
The universal sign for volcanic activity is hot springs. Boiling water erupts from deep down throughout the region. It is great to bath in, but – refined the right way – also tastes amazing. We guide you through our unique mineral water tastings, in which you will try several waters bottled in this small strip of land.
AT THE HEART OF IT ALL
Right at the center of the Thermen- and Vulkanland Styria lies the city of Feldbach. It is easy to reach by public transport. Walk past what is probably the most colorful church tower in the world, (window) shop in the streets surrounding the city’s main square and experience selected cultural events.
SIMPLE AND GENUINE
It’s an institution since more than 230 years and still as popular as always: the Buschenschank. These rustic wine taverns offer homemade delicacies, traditional bug bean salads, Styrian wines and an inimitable flair – a combination that puts them on top off your “must-do-list” when visiting the area.
