Eröffnung Erlebnistour Lafarge

Das Zementwerk öffnet die Tore und lädt uns zu einem Blick hinter die Kulissen. Im Rahmen von Erlebnsiwelt Wirtschaft öffnete uns das Unternehmen Lafarge-Perlmooser Tür und Tor. Tourguides der Firma führen uns quer durch das Werk in Retznei. Als Einstieg bekommen wir eine Sicherheitseinführung und werden mit Helm, Warnweste, Schutzbrille und Ohrenschutz justiert. Nun geht es ab zu den Stationen Rohmühle, Labor, Drehrohrofen, Zementmühle und Umwelttechnik. Wie kleine Ameisen bewegen wir uns durch das mächtige Werksgelände. Das Produktionsrätsel hinter den hohen Türmen ist gelüftet und schafft Wertschätzung für den Rohstoff Kalkstein.

The cement plant opens its doors and invites us to look behind the scene. One of the plant managers from the company Lafarge-Perlmooser guides us through the cement manufacturing process at their plant in Retznei in Southern Styria. As an introduction we get a basic security check and equip ourselves with helmets, high visibility wests and earplugs. On our tour through the plant all steps involved in producing cement are explained – starting off with the extraction of raw materials, the grinding and storage of them, their firing, the subsequent storage and grinding of cement and the final packaging and shipping. Looking like small ants alongside the imposing machinery we make our way through the factory and solve the riddle hidden behind the immensely high facilities. Apropos of nothing we learn to esteem the raw material limestone.
