The Ruhrkohle Choir on a concert tour with shows at the St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Vienna, the Monastery Church Klosterneuburg and the municipal hall Leoben/Donawitz. The biggest miners choir from Essen also visited Graz. As ambassadors of the region we accompanied them to the wine experience in the South of Styria – from Zieregg via Ratsch to the Eorytraube in Glanz. The view from the busses on the narrow roads onto the steep wine fields brought on several “higher” sounds, even though we only made it to a sea level of about 500 metres. Ursula Lechenauer supported us with her extensive wine knowledge. Sunny minds and singing accompanied us through the day, no matter if at the oil-mill Hartlieb or in the afternoon at the Buschenschank Dunkl in Vulkanland. The emotional highlight of the day was the visit to the Himmelsberg in Straden, with four churches and three church towers, where 152 voices brought the church into resonance. Thank you to Karl Nestelberger, initiative kultur-land-leben, and Elan-Touristik for their recommendation of Spirit of Regions. In between wine and lines of song!
