After 16 intensive months of working on the project DiscOver55 we are able to enjoy the outcome of our work and proudly presented it to the public at the finale press conference.

Throughout the project period, which included the development of international travel packages for seniors, we were able to broaden our horizon and to further enhance our professional knowledge. The main findings on how to satisfy the target group 55+ and what is particularly important to senior citizens on holidays were summarized in a practical handbook.

The handbook further on formed the basis for the creation of 16 bookable tour packages for groups in the four project regions. As project partner we were mainly responsible for the preparation of the packages, which are tailor-made for the target group. During the project period we identified four areas of interest as focal points for the tour packages: culture & history, nature & open air, music & dance, handicraft.

Take a look at the offers:
Vulkanland, Austria: http://www.discover55.eu/en/vulkanland/
Lake Saimaa, Finland: http://www.discover55.eu/en/lake-saimaa/
Izola, Slovenia: http://www.discover55.eu/en/izola/
Montepisano, Italy: http://www.discover55.eu/en/montepisano/

Due to the signage of a declaration of intent, these packages will be bookable and marketed by at least 12 international travel agencies. The sustainability of the project as well as its long-term success is thus ensured and an intensive cooperation between the regions is predictable for the future.

For the press conference we were able to welcome DI Andrea Grabher and Mag. Dr. Walter Prager from GEFAS Styria as well as Gerti and Reinhard Kaulfersch from the Villa Gleichenberg for the joint presentation of the project’s outcome in our office.
